Centaurea 'John Coutts' is an excellent knapweed that is seldom out of flower, it flowers from early midsummer until autumn. The flowers are deep rose pink thistle like blooms with pale centres that are held on stiff stems above deeply-cut grey-green leaves. A second flush of flowering can be encouraged by deadheading. The seedheads offer another interest through the colder months. Loved by bees and butterflies.
